
As suspect vehicles are identified, surveillance efforts may then lead to identification and apprehension of individuals related to other more serious crimes or to the identification of larger crime syndicates. Data collected from PIPS ALPR systems may be used for investigative purposes. Data residing in the PIPS Back Office System Server (BOSS) may be queried and mined to identify potential suspects in crimes, may provide data leading up to – and immediately following – an event, or may be used to examine the prior whereabouts of known suspects.
